The McLean, Vir
ginia Chamber of Commerce says it the best when it describes this irresistible area as the perfect combination of “beautiful tree-lined residential areas of well-maintained homes [and] a bustling downtown area of shops, restaurants, and top companies.” This vibrant city is conveniently settled just west of downtown Washington, D.C., and only a few minutes from Tysons Corner.
The winding trails and gorgeous parks give rise to a vigorous selection of recreation activities, and the active community centers like McLean Community Center, McLean Project for the Arts and the Alden Theater offer opportunities in the arts and on stage. This beautiful area not only boasts the benefits of green space that hosts the nationally
recognized and fully accessible playground, Clemyjontri, but is eagerly anticipating the Metro stop coming soon.
If you are as intrigued by this area as we are, you’ll love exploring the gorgeous Georgian Colonial home the Wydler Brothers Realty Team has listed. Nestled on a private wooded lot more than three acres in size, this home is across from the Potomac School on its private drive. The interior of this exquisite home offers spacious living areas on four floors, a wrap-around porch, a sun room accented with French doors and spa-like remodeled bathrooms. The vaulted ceilings, rich hardwoods and unique millwork give the home a p
olished yet welcoming feel that anyone house hunting in northern Virginia or the greater DC area would love.

Summer is winding down, tourists are heading home, but DC’s arts, events and restaurants are as vibrant as ever. So, as the heat dies down, we wanted to give you some suggestions for exploring our (temporarily) sleepy city!
September brings both the DC Shorts Film Festival at the Landmark’s E Street Cinema from the 12th until the 16th, and the Adams Morgan day festival on the 12th showcasing arts and food from around the world. At the National Geographic Museum downtown, Leonardo Da Vinci – The Genius is on display. Not only an eternal name in history as a man who shaped art and painting, but an inventor, DaVinci’s brilliance is on display until September 12th. The National Geographic is also in a prime spot, located just north of the White House and on the cusp of the ever-popular Logan Circle.
This trendy, walkable neighborhood developed dramatically from an area to be avoided to one of the most favorable living and out-on-the-town areas in Washington in the last decade. It now boasts some of the most delicious cuisine and unique dining experiences in DC, including the Cork Wine Bar, a “perfect rendition of a Spanish wine and tapas bar with a French accent on the wine list,” that is reputed to have food so delicious it outshines the vineyard selections.
The Logan Tavern is another favorite spot, and though it tries to be the “neighborhood restaurant,” it simply draws too many
visitors with its highly touted cuisine such as their endive, blue cheese and walnut salad and “glass and a half” option on the wine list, as well as its pleasant outdoor seating option.
The remodeled and updated Victorian style rowhouses are characteristic of the area, however there are other unique gems in the mist of these beautiful homes such as the boutique DeSoto building. A look at the one bedroom condo the Wydler Brothers Realty Team has listed there will show you that this building is not only full of character but offers charm and elegance in its broad bay windows, lofty ceilings and granite countertops.
Interested in taking a look at this gorgeous home or want more suggestions of our favorite ways to explore DC during this sleepy month? Drop us a note – we can’t wait to hear from you!
